Extra Large Terracotta
Pots & Planters

At Mud Mountain, we are proud of our comprehensive collection of extra large terracotta pots. As with the smaller pots, these are all handmade but go through a particularly lengthy production and slow, natural drying period.

At Mud Mountain, we are particularly proud of our comprehensive collection of extra large terracotta pots. Their quality and design make them practical and beautiful, and the selection of sizes means that we can offer solutions for the vast majority of landscaping and planting projects. As with the smaller pots, these are all handmade but go through a particularly lengthy production and slow, natural drying period to reduce the risk of damage that can occur in a forced drying process. It can take up to a month to create just one of these stunning planters.

If you invest in large containers, buy the best you can afford as they will be around for some time. Also worth considering carefully is the style of pot ... choose one that you know you will enjoy looking at for years to come and, if possible, position it in its 'forever home'. It's fairly easy to change what's planted in a large pot but not so easy to move them!

Possibly the most popular choice of planting for these huge pots is the olive, and there is no doubt that terracotta and olive trees are a match made in heaven. Please look at our gallery for some super examples of how our customers have planted their pots using great style and imagination.

About our Range of Extra Large Pots

Most customers will rightly, seriously consider the investment they make when purchasing one of our large terracotta pots but can be confident in the knowledge they are buying a high quality, durable and beautiful terracotta pot. The Mud Mountain range of extra large terracotta pots is not the same as the inferior quality found in most garden centres but produced using Galestro clay from the foothills of Tuscany. Galestro clay is hard to beat when compared to other clay, and a large terracotta pot made from this material will not only serve its purpose well but will last decades and even centuries.

We encourage clients to select the shape and style that suits their garden wisely and then have the satisfaction of watching your terracotta pot patina and age into beautiful artefacts for your garden.
