Giara Provenzale

A beautiful, smooth, round-bellied giara that pays homage to the graceful silhouette of the French Provencal jar.

Details

As the name indicates the design of this jar is heavily influenced by the terracotta containers of Provence, in particular the biot jar. These jars would have traditionally been used to store olives, but are now widely used in Mediterranean-style gardens. The shape is not suited to permanent planting, but the pot within a pot method or a hanging basket insert can be used for seasonal displays. They also look stunning simply used as an ornament, either in the garden or conservatory.
