Giovanni Malavolti Orcio

This antique orcio would have been produced for the purpose of carrying wine or oil with the tap holes towards the base of the jar—an impressively large piece.

Details

Stamped with the Kiln name: Giovanni Malavolti, Impruneta. This kiln operated during the late 1800s. This is a lovely Orcio with a full belly and handles placed mid-way. It has a rosy red patina and plenty of natural ageing. Standing at over one metre in height, this olive jar will make a huge statement piece.
